Tatra Mountains

The Tatra Mountains are sort of the Swiss Alps of Poland -- about 3 hours from Krakow. They look like they would be a lot of fun to hike in. We'd hoped to get a good day hike in the mountains, but wound up just getting a half-hour walk down one hill. Still, we could see that it would be worth coming back to these mountains for a longer stay. The lighting conditions made it tough to get any great shots without being a much better photographer than I! Click on the image to see a larger version.

Julie and Tim with the Tatra Mountains in the background. We were wandering around a fairly major tourist trap here.

Same tourist trap -- different subjects. Marilyn, Marta, Tyler, and Meg.

That's Tim partway down the hill on our half-hour walk. The mountain in the distance (left half of the picture) looks like a soldier lying on his back. I think the legend is that this soldier refused to serve the king, and he was then somehow cursed/frozen for all eternity.
