Leaving Us in Great Pain
January 18, 2009
Eight years? Really?! How time flies, in some respects. Eight-and-a-half years ago, I was part of a group of friends and co-workers who got together to fight the election of our then-governor to The White House. The result was a three-song collaboration in the vein of protest songs from the 60s — The GeorgyBush Project.
Clearly, we failed. But, the heart and soul of the group (and the chief lyricist), rallied some of the original members, as well as recruited a few new ones, for one more collaboration. The GeorgyBush Project proudly presents Pinko, Che, Kiki, and Karl performing Leaving Us in Great Pain (click on the image to listen to the song) from their ALBUM 1600 album:
For those of you who are not Peter, Paul and Mary aficionados, you can see the inspiration for the album and download their version of John Denver’s Leaving on a Jet Plane on Amazon.
For the very hastily produced accompanying music video, just play the movie below!
Please pass along this post to anyone who’d appreciate it!
