Exhaustion
May 13, 2010
A couple of weeks ago was the multi-family neighborhood garage sale. It was a drizzly day, and, unlike the usual weekends in our ‘hood when multiple families wind up clustered at one house or another, logistics of the garage sale kept the adults tethered to their garages. The kids, though, were free to roam.
Carson and Alana were really into selling some of their older toys…because they had their eyes on toys and clothes on sale by the neighbors!
<sigh>
Alana and her best friend from across the street (whose parents were also garage sale-ing) made multiple trips down the street in the drizzle to check out the pickings of the stylish 3rd grader’s garage. And to make some purchases.
Saturday night, Alana was in bed just a little later than usual — around 9:00 or 9:30.
On Sunday morning, 8:00 rolled around and she was still zonked.
9:00. Still out.
10:00. Dead to the world.
10:30. Captured on camera. Still out.
11:00. No movement.
Noon. No signs of waking.
1:00. Nope.
1:15…and we finally woke her up.
She ate some lunch, and then curled up on the couch for a light nap.
We thought she might be sick, but she had no fever, her appetite was fine, and she was completely back to her chipper self by Monday!
