Saturday was a cool, sunny day for watching Carson play soccer. After a little watching, Alana decided to entertain herself by spinning around… and around… …until she fell down.

Gilligan on the AT Revisited: 18-May-1993
May 18, 2008
This is a 5-month long series of blog posts that are the entries in my journals written on most evenings as I hiked the Appalachian Trail in 1993. The journal entry appears first — indented — and then any additional commentary from my 15-years-removed perspective follows. 5/18/93 — Tue. For the first time, I am […]
Field Day at Glacier Ridge Elementary
May 17, 2008
“Field Day” — a long-standing tradition at elementary schools across the country — was this past Friday. For kindergarteners, fathers were encouraged to attend to bond/chaperone with their kids. In a moment of intoxication/exhaustion/hypnosis/I’m-not-exactly-sure-what, I agreed to go. Keeping in mind that crowds make me uncomfortable, and handling more than one kid at a time […]

“So, Tim, what is it you do again?”
May 15, 2008
Heavens knows I stink at answering that question. But, next week, I’ll actually be interviewed on an hourlong internet radio program that is put on by the American Marketing Association. Wednesday, May 21st from noon to 1:00 Central. You can listen to it on the Marketing News Radio site, you can read a bit of […]
“J” Update No. 2
May 15, 2008
I talked to my mother this evening around 8:00 Central, and she was getting ready to head home from the hospital. It sounded like she was going to have another hour or two to wait, and she was clearly exhausted — both from being hopped up on prednisone, while also being in the hospital and […]

“J” (Tim’s Mom) Update
May 14, 2008
It’s been a rough past 7-10 days for my mom, but I figured I’d use a quick blog post to update those friends and family who may not be in the loop. I may update this entry a couple of times, as I’m sure I’m going to get some facts mixed up, as I’m compiling […]
